Utah State Senator Mike McKell has served in the Utah Legislature since 2013.
Mike McKell is a current member of the Utah State Senate representing District 25. As a state senator, Mike has voted to cut taxes, balance the state budget, promote economic growth, and fund education. He’s also worked to secure Utah’s water resources, protect children from the harms of social media, and prevent China from buying land in the state. Mike has been a conservative voice for fiscal responsibility, small government, and defending our state and nation from foreign threats.
Mike was originally elected to the Utah House of Representatives in 2012. In 2020, Mike was elected to the Utah State Senate. Currently, he serves as the chair for the Business, Economic Development, and Labor Appropriations Subcommittee and the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Coordination Committee.. Mike has previously served as the House Chair for the Higher Education Appropriations Subcommittee as well as a member of the Higher Education Strategic Planning Commission.
Mike is an accomplished attorney and the founding partner of Utah Legal Team. Mike’s law practice is primarily focused on insurance law representing those who have been injured through no fault of their own. Mike has been recognized as one of Utah’s Legal Elite and is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell and has a perfect 10.0 AVVO rating.
He and his wife, Brandi, are parents of four children. In his free time, Mike enjoys working on his farm, racing horses and running marathons. Mike has run the Boston, New York, Chicago, London, and Berlin Marathons. He has a goal to run all six world major marathons with only Tokyo remaining.
Mike’s Spanish Fork heritage runs deep and he’s passionate about advocating for south Utah County. As a devoted husband and father, Mike is determined to make Utah the best place for families.
